The department of Orthopaedic surgery of K S Hegde Medical Academy conducted a continuing medical education program on 28-5-2017 at the K S Hegde Hospital seminar hall. The topic of the program was “Current evidence based practice -Lumbar IVDP”. The program entailed invited faculty talks on the current evidence based management in lumbar disc problems. The program was done in association with Canara orthopaedic society® and Karnataka orthopaedic association. The invited faculty were Dr Srinivas M, Dr Dheeraj Kumar, Dr Santosh Babu, Dr Deepak Hegde, Dr Janardhan Aithal, Dr Ishwara Keerti, Dr Mrinal Shetty, Dr Shyam Sunder Bhat, Dr Mahesha, Dr Raghuraj U and Dr Sreejith Padmanabh. There was a live surgical demonstration and telecast of endoscopic lumbar discectomy by Dr Mahesha for the delegates. The program was attended by seventy orthopaedic surgeons from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts. Prof Dr Lawrence Mathias, head of the department of KS Hegde Medical academy welcomed the delegates and Prof H R Rai president of the Canara orthopaedic society presided over the program.
