President’s Message

Dear Colleagues,

It gives me immense pleasure to take over as the President of the Canara Orthopaedic Society for the year 2023-2024.

It is an uphill task knowing fully well the stupendous work done by Dr. Sachidananda Rai, the President of COS 2022-20203 and his team headed by Dr. Latheesh Leo. We do hope to keep the momentum and do justice to COS.

I am confident that together with my team of office bearers headed by Dr. Shailesh Pai as Secretary, Dr. Mohamed Faheem as Joint Secretary and Dr. Navaneeth Kamath, we will continue to uphold the values and mission of COS. We have diligently planned various events and initiatives for the coming term aimed at furthering the field of Orthopedics and benefitting our members. We also would like to introduce the subspecialty mentorship under the guidance of senior Orthopedic surgeons in various subspecialties to train junior surgeons and postgraduates. We would oblige and be grateful for members to come forward and act as mentors.

We would also appreciate the active involvement of the head of the departments of various medical colleges who have shown great enthusiasm in the past and to continue the same during this term and also encourage new applications for IOA, KOA and COS.

In conclusion, I am truly honoured to lead COS and I look forward to a productive and fulfilling term with the collective efforts of our members, mentors and partners. Together let us strive towards excellence in Orthopedics making a positive impact on patient care and the field as a whole.
