The Canara Orthopaedic Society in association with I M A Mangaluru, the RedCross society Dakshina Kannada branch and the rotary club organised a public programme and civic felicitation for Dr (prof) Asode Ananthram Shetty.
The programme was organised at T V Ramana Pai auditorium on 19th may 2017.
The programme was attended by Honourable minister for civil supplies govt of Karnataka Mr U T Khader as chief guest. Pro-Chancellor of Nitte university Prof Dr Shantharam Shetty presided over the function with invited dignitaries Prof H R Rai president of COS , Mr Venu Sharma chairman of IRCS Mangalore , Mr C A Shantharam Shetty president of Red Cross Dakshina Kannada, Mr Vinayak Prabhu Vice governor Rotary club and Dr G K Bhat past president of IMA Mangalore were in attendance
Prof Asode Ananthram Shetty was felicitated for his lifetime service in the field of medicine, research and teaching and for being bestowed with numerous awards and the most recent being the highest award for a surgeon “the Hunterian award” by the Royal College of Surgeons England, London. in 2017.
Prof Asode Ananthram Shetty delivered a talk on “Next Big Thing in health care”
On the occassion a book was released to aid the differently abled person by the Red Cross Dakshina Kannada titled “Ability Beyond Disability” by Dr Asode Ananthram Shetty
